Free NFL Channel Launches on LG Smart TV.

The NFL’s streaming footprint is expanding. The league currently provides local broadcasts for streaming on Peacock and Paramount+’s premium tiers, as well as via Prime Video, ESPN+, and its own over-the-top streaming service NFL+. The NFL is now available to watch on more screens and in more locations than ever before when all the live TV streaming choices are taken into account.

Although it lacks some of the features of the NFL Network, the NFL has also established a free ad-supported TV (FAST) channel. This channel is a terrific choice for cord-cutting NFL fans on a budget. LG Smart TVs will now have access to the FAST channel, now known simply as “The NFL Channel.”

The NFL Channel has officially launched on LG Channels, LG’s exclusive free streaming service for LG Smart TVs, according to a Monday announcement from LG Electronics USA and the NFL. The NFL Channel promotes the No. 1 sport in America by giving viewers a fun selection of original shows, NFL Films movies, old-school game broadcasts, and other content.

As of right now, LG Smart TVs1 and other supported devices can watch it for free on LG Channels. The NFL Channel is also available on Pluto TV, Xumo, The Roku Channel, Tubi, and other free TV services. Click here to read more.

Netflix forms an in-house video game studio.

In an effort to establish itself in the gaming sector, Netflix is starting its own video game studio. Marko Lastikka will serve as the studio’s director, with its headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. Former Electronic Arts general manager and executive producer Lastikka was also a co-founder of the video game company Zynga.

Next Games, a gaming business that Netflix purchased earlier this year for around $72 million, is also based in Finland. Boss Fight Entertainment and Night School Studio were acquired by Netflix in March and September of 2021, respectively, along with Next Games.

Netflix stated that it still has “far more work to go to create a fantastic games experience,” so it might be a few years before a Netflix-produced game is released. Video games are at the centre of Netflix’s considerations to bring in new subscribers and increase income after the streaming service revealed significant subscriber losses in the first quarter.

Time will tell how Netflix’s gaming ambitions will drive new subscribers. But the streamer’s influence over its existing customer base seems uncertain. Click here to read more.
